Post Graduate Programmes Under The National Board Of Examination [NBE]

Prince Aly Khan Hospital Is Accredited To The NBE For Post Graduate Training In Surgical Oncology. This Is A Three Year Course Open To Students Holding Post Graduate Degree Level Qualifications In Surgery. The Programme Began In February 2007 And Two Students Are In Training. Two Additional Students Will Be Added Each Year Until There Are A Total Of Six Students In Training At Any Time.

The Hospital Was Recently Inspected For Post Graduate Training In Medical Oncology And Approval Is Expected To Come Through Soon.

Our Application For Accreditation In Imaging Is Over And We Expect Approval By The [NBE] Shortly.

Prince Aly Khan Hospital Intends To Apply For Accreditation In Cardio-Thoracic Surgery, Critical Care Medicine And Urology During 2008, As Soon As Infrastructure Mandated By The NBE Is In Place.

Post Graduate Programme Under The Indian Society Of Critical Care Medicine [ISCCM]

Prince Aly Khan Hospital Is Accredited To The ISCCM For Their One- Year Training Programme Leading To A Diploma In Critical Care Medicine. Two Students Will Train Each Year, Commencing 01 September2007.

Fellowship Programmes. There Are Ongoing Fellowship Programmes In :

• Surgical Oncology With Two Students In Training.
• Medical Oncology, With One Student.
• Micro - Vascular Surgery, With One Student.

Research

This is at a relatively nascent stage, mainly involving clinical trials.

Two clinical studies are being processed by the Scientific Advisory Committee and the Institutional Ethics Committee.

All research proposals are vetted first by the Scientific Advisory Committee and, if found in order from the scientific point of view , are forwarded to the ethics committee standard operation procedures exist as per Indian Council of Medical Research [ICMR] guidelines.
